I don't really know how custom server work in BFV, but with 4 I thought they had a great balance. Most experiences with private servers are good, but after a few bad ones over the years, I think it's just better if DICE can handle everything in house.

Playing on a server where you know the admin is unfair, and having to nerf yourself or be conscious of how well you're doing is just shit cause you're paranoid the whole time you'll get banned any moment if you pop off too hard. Custom games will still exist like in BFV but the lobby hosts don't truly own anything. Maybe my taste have changed but I just want a more uniform experience across all games where every player is equal and you can do what you want. While 90% of the time it's beneficial rules that help with balance and aren't hard to follow, it's just another small thing taken away from you. There comes a point in the games life where many servers are empty and you have to play in this specific populated server to play your favorite map with these rules. Some are fair but add custom rules and stuff, which is totally fine, but then when the game gets old and you can't just not play on their server if you don't want to.
